Installation Tips:
- The bottom rubber groove of the sliding window is most likely to be rusted, so it’s advisable to use a bit of sealant to secure the rubber into the groove.
- Apply a small amount of sealant for the finishing joint as well.
- When assembling the rubber, remember to make holes at the top and bottom of the window. Make three holes every 10-15 cm with a small screwdriver. These holes are necessary for air to escape from the inside when pressing the rubber. (Refer to the original rubber for reference)
- The first closure of the window is the most challenging. Close the window as far as it goes; the handle is not yet fixed. Approach the window from the outside, press the protruding rubber towards the inside at the corners closest to the front of the car. Return to the inside of the car; now, using gentle pressure on the sides of the handle, press firmly directly onto the window. The handle should gradually secure until it finally locks. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE.
- Great! The window is closed. Check if you are satisfied with the result, if there is no water leakage, if the wind doesn’t whistle, and if the rubber fits everywhere nicely.
- Leave the window closed for at least a week for the rubber to settle. I must note that sometimes closing the window may require a bit of force by pressing the locking mechanism, due to the thicker rubber. But I can assure you it will be easier than the first time.
- Important to know. These rubbers are suitable for windows from 2005 to 2019 (closed window corners with glass fit precisely or almost precisely). The first version of the window from 2003 to 2005, the sliding window with glass, does not fit precisely; the sliding window is about 0.5 cm away from the glass. However, owners of the first version windows, don’t worry; I have a solution for you too.
- Do not use any lubricants, WD-40, etc., as it will only complicate the process.
